Corrine Hutton lost her hands and feet to septicaemia in 2013 and was expected to become the country's first double transplant patient last summer.

A mum hoping to become Scotland’s first double hand transplant patient has told of her EIGHT false alarms.

Corinne Hutton, 46, from Lochwinnoch, Renfrewshire, lost her hands and feet to septicaemia in 2013.

Now she’s spoken of the eight false alarms that raised, and then dashed, her hopes.

Most recently, Corinne was expected to become the UK’s first double transplant patient last summer. But Doncaster man Chris King, 57, received new hands in an operation in July.

Corinne said: “I’ve got to know the surgeons and I was delighted they got to perform the procedure. I just didn’t realise the effect it would have on me. I was gutted.” Continue reading
