Joseph and Jan Kerr, the parents of Michael Kerr, who died in a motorcycle crash in 2008, travel along Greensburg Road during the Big Mike's Annual Memorial Motorcycle Run in 2012. The annual event will be held again this Sunday.

Hundreds of motorcycles are expected to roll through three counties Sunday for the “Big Mike’s Memorial Run,” a charity bike run in memory of a young man who died in a motorcycle crash seven years ago.

The free event benefits LifeBanc of Northeastern Ohio.

Michael T. Kerr, 26, had left Legends Sports Pub in Green, where he worked as a “bar back/bouncer,” when the crash occurred July 27, 2008. A Repository article dated July 29, 2008, said he had entered a left-turn lane in the center of the highway on State Route 241 (Massillon Road) near I-77 when he struck a concrete barrier around a flower bed in the middle of Massillon Road. He died later that day.

Kerr was an organ donor.

Three recipients of his donations will be at Sunday’s event:

• Tom Beadle of the Canton area, who received a kidney;

• Valerie Henning of the Medina area, who received his liver donation;

• Bill Wagner of New York, who received Kerr’s heart, said Joseph Kerr, the young man’s father. Continue reading
