More than 123,000 people in the U.S. are on the waiting list for an organ transplant.

Seven percent of them will die before they are able to receive that transplant.

According to the American Transplant Foundation, on average 21 people die daily from the lack of available organs for transplant.

Sarasota resident, Ralph Johnson is a one year post transplant organ recipient, he was near deaths door, his liver failing fast.

"It was so serious that I had my liver transplant on July 12th, on July 13th they were going to send me to hospice." Said Johnson.
