TRAID and London-based laundry and dry cleaning service ZipJet are working together throughout January and February to collect clothes donations that will help stock TRAID’s charity shops.
The ZipJet home pick-up and delivery service collects, launders, irons, and returns customers’ clothes, and is bookable on-demand via an app or online. During January and February, it will also collect an extra bag of customers’ unwanted clothes, which it will take to TRAID’s warehouse to be hand sorted, priced, and sold in one of its charity shops.
To promote the partnership, both ZipJet and TRAID have sent out newsletters, and ZipJet is also dropping flyers around London. As part of the ZipJet service, customers receive a confirmation email, and during the partnership a second email will also be sent, informing customers that they can give ZipJet a bag of unwanted clothes.
Lorenzo Franzi, founder of ZipJet said:
“Every year people across the UK throw away over 430,000 tonnes of wearable clothes. We are really excited to be partnering with TRAID to help prevent these clothes going to landfill or incineration. To kick off 2016 ZipJet will take care of customers’ laundry, whilst also recycling their unwanted clothes in one simple transaction.”
