Community members ran in a 5K race in Richmond Hill to raise money for Timmy Shuman, who received a new kidney and liver last year.


RICHMOND HILL, Ga. —Community members ran in a 5K race in Richmond Hill to raise money for a local organ recipient. 

Timmy Shuman received a kidney and liver transplant last year and his family has needed help paying for those medical expenses.

On Saturday night, his friends and family organized a 5K “Glow Run” at J.F. Gregory Park. Along with the 5K race, there was a fun run for kids, a face painting contest and a silent auction.

"It feels good to know that I’m loved and they care for me,” said Shuman.

Shuman says this fundraiser is a tremendous help.

“I’m still getting bills coming in the mail from Emory and other doctors who I have to go through," Shuman said. Continue reading
