CAF is to strengthen and grow the services it offers to philanthropists and businesses that donate across borders through a new international network.
CAF International replaces and builds upon the work of the former CAF Global Alliance. This brought together CAF’s operations in the UK, CAF America, and CAF Canada with philanthropic expertise from a diverse range of sector partners on six continents including CAF Russia, CAF India, IDIS in Brazil, CAF Southern Africa, Tusev in Turkey, Bulgaria’s Bcause and Good2Give in Australia.
CAF International retains these partnerships and will also grow CAF’s membership of trusted partners in cross-border giving, with the network also delivering a number of services including charity validation, cross-border giving policy and a global charity database for its donor community.
The move comes as the Charities Aid Foundation group reported that last year it had delivered more than £958 million to charities around the world and had more than £1 billion entrusted to its stewardship by donors and corporations.
CAF is also holding its first ever Worldwide Symposium on Philanthropy this month. Taking place next Tuesday, 9 November, the donor-focused event will cover current trends in global giving and offer insights into how philanthropy can change the world and revolutionise giving.
The virtual event offers 19 hours of live training, education and conversations with philanthropic experts across 9 time zones and 10 countries. Participants can join the event live for as much or as little of the 19 hours of content as they wish. Recordings of symposium talks will also be available to view on demand from CAF’s Worldwide Philanthropy Library after the event.
