The latest round of the Aviva Community Fund is open for applications until next Thursday, 20 April.

Each quarter Aviva employees donate £250,000 between them each quarter to a variety of projects, and this year, it is looking for projects taking climate action or promoting financial wellbeing.

Under these two key areas, the Aviva Community Fund is interested in:

  • Projects promoting healthy, thriving communities by preventing, preparing for and protecting against the impacts of climate change
  • Projects helping people take control of their wellbeing by giving them the tools to be more financially independent.

It wants to hear how projects in these areas will strengthen communities, helping people to lead healthier, happier lives and giving them an opportunity to look to the future with confidence.

For example, if it’s a woodland regeneration project, applicants should consider how it could help local people as well as the environment, such as by offering therapeutic activities for locals or boosting the local economy.

If it’s a project focused on helping people reach their goal of long-term employment, the Fund wants to hear the details, such as what skills people will be learning, and how the project is tackling the psychological or societal barriers to employment.

Projects should also:

  • develop a new approach, product, or technology; or
  • implement a new initiative or pilot a new scheme; or
  • expand existing services to a new area or beneficiary group; or
  • adapt services to meet today’s needs without compromising those of future generations.

More information on how to apply, and the application form is available here.
