Less than halfway through seven-week campaign We Stand Together appeal has passed landmark figure, boosted by weekend telethon

The Guardian and Observer refugee charity appeal has surged past the £1m mark less than halfway through its seven-week campaign.

The We Stand Together appeal supports six charities providing vital services to refugees across the world, from emergency rescue, medical aid, food and shelter to resettlement and integration.
