It's International Day of Charity today: the annual celebration of the sector that was first declared by the United Nations General Assembly in 2012 to raise awareness and provide a platform for charitable activities. International Day of Charity takes place each year on 5 September: the anniversary of Mother Teresa’s death. With charities, other sector organisations, and companies too all taking to social media to raise awareness of their work and achievements, ask for support, inspire action, and celebrate the charity sector, here is a selection of tweets: https://twitter.com/UN_Women/status/1169468969100574720 https://twitter.com/NCVO/status/1169519305429532672 https://twitter.com/guidedogs/status/1169531992398082048 https://twitter.com/age_uk/status/1169542904102236162 https://twitter.com/HeatRecruitment/status/1169547889305149440 https://twitter.com/unitedutilities/status/1169545257446453248 https://twitter.com/KidashaNepal/status/1169544854822674432 https://twitter.com/LBFEW/status/1169547254614638592 https://twitter.com/EuCivilsociety/status/1169533347678367749 https://twitter.com/sascampaigns/status/1169514673034727424
