Bernard Ross, =mc Director and co-author of Change for Good, has written a new book on fundraising with a donation going towards Covid relief efforts for every purchase made until 14 June.

The book comes out on 14 June, and is co-written with Clare Segal. It looks at how to apply behavioural science to the art of solicitation in major donor fundraising. It introduces the reader to 20 tools that will make that solicitation in person, through email, even on Zoom more effective, and builds on the work covered in previous books by Ross, including The Influential Fundraiser, and Change for Good. Read more about it here.

Until Monday’s launch date, the book, entitled Making the Ask: The artful science of high value fundraising, is available to pre-order for 99p, with donations going to the Red Cross, Red Crescent and UNICEF. Ross is also encouraging people to donate towards a vaccination themselves.

In his Facebook post announcing the promotion, Ross said:

I’m hugely concerned about the vaccine inequity worldwide. If you live in Nepal, or Zimbabwe, or Lebanon or even Brazil… you just don’t have much of a chance of getting a vaccine. So I’m asking you to make a gift of a vaccine to someone who lives in one of those countries. You can do it really simply. I’ve made a deal with my publisher and co-author that instead of spending £1000 on promotion of the book, we will, between us, pay for a vaccine [or equivalent] for every copy of Making the Ask Kindle Edition that is sold before 14th June. AND the publisher has arranged to reduce the price to 99p until 14th. (After that is goes up to £15+)”
