With Christmas approaching, it’s the perfect opportunity to hold those big charity events and give your fundraising efforts a nice big festive boost. It’s also the time of the year to thank your donors, and what better way to acknowledge them and their fundraising efforts than with an exquisite piece of print. Here are three ways to use print this Christmas:

Christmas celebrations

With an estimated 900 million Christmas cards sold in boxes and packs, Christmas cards are the seasonal opportunity you don’t want to miss. Send them to say thanks to everyone who has donated and volunteered, while also selling them in packs and in stores as a way to add to that fundraising pot.

Build on the fact that December is well-known to be the biggest month for charity donations, and plan a big Christmas celebration. Gather people round a Christmas tree for a carol service dedicated to celebrations, remembrance and thanks for example; or hold a charity Christmas dinner for guests to attend as way to say thank you but also gather some last minute funds.

End of year results

Everyone wants to know how successful all the fun runs, carwashes, bake sales and pub quiz nights have been. Send out a great piece of direct mail, in the form of a report or a leaflet, detailing all the efforts of the year as a way to demonstrate your thanks and commitment to fundraisers. Bookmarks are also good for conveying the fundraising total for the year, and are really useful to everyone. They double up as a gentle reminder and max out memorability of your cause.

Looking forward to the year ahead

While thanking contributors during the festive season is a must-do, looking forward to the year ahead by utilising New Year resolutions is also important. People will start to think about their fundraising goals so this is a great time to be at the forefront of their minds.

Send them a calendar with dates of pre-planned charity events already filled in so they are aware of what is coming up. Business or mini cards make brilliant pledge cards where potential fundraisers can write how much they want to fundraise for the coming year on them. Why not hang these cards on your Christmas tree to demonstrate what next year could bring?
