Next week, though, the Moreno Valley resident will be part of the festivities for reasons both tragic and joyful.
Her son, Xavier Brown, who died in 2009 at the age of 13 months, will be among several organ donors – including some from the Inland area – featured on the Donate Life float, which will be marking its 14th year in the parade.
The toddler died suddenly of a stroke. After doctors determined he was brain-dead, the family made the difficult decision to donate his organs, Fouse said.
She teared up as she described him as the “sweetest baby ever.”
