Last week some of the best in Scottish fundraising was celebrated at the Scottish Fundraising Awards, held during the Institute of Fundraising Scotland’s annual Convention in Glasgow.

The awards, which are free to enter, are designed to recognise Scotland’s best fundraisers and celebrate their success.

Gary Kernahan, Chair of the Scottish Conference Committee, said:

“All across Scotland we have charities providing vital services that so many people are dependent on. This important work undertaken by charities is only possible thanks to the people who work so hard to raise funds.  We have some of the very best fundraisers here in Scotland and these awards will recognise and celebrate success in fundraising.”

Voluntary Fundraising Group of the Year

Craig Gowans Memorial Fund, Sick Kids Friends Foundation

Best Donor Development Campaign

Edinburgh International Book Festival, Edinburgh International Book Festival Patrons

Best Use of Event of Community Fundraising Initiative

Breast Cancer Care Scotland, The Show

Best Partner Relationship (Corporate or Trust)

Sponsored by Bruce Tait Associates, the award went to Aberlour and Sainsbury’s Bank.

Best Marketing & Communication Campaign

Sponsored by Nexus Direct, the award went to EMMS International, Sunday’s Child Campaign

Volunteer Fundraiser of the Year

Aidan McCallum, Scottish Huntington’s Association

McCallum said afterwards:

“I think everyone should put in time to fundraising – you’re not just putting time into helping people in need, you feel so amazing after you’ve done it!”
