Like most betrothed couples, Chris Dempsey and Heather Krueger share a special bond, but theirs is much more rare, and vital, than most.
When they marry in the fall, they won't have to think twice about that reference to "in sickness and in health."
Dempsey, a Frankfort resident and village employee, met Krueger last year — just six weeks before she underwent a liver transplant. It was a remarkably fortunate twist of fate because Dempsey became her donor.
How many brides can say their grooms not only gave them a diamond ring but the gift of life. Continue reading
