Marie Curie’s Great Daffodil campaign TV ad for 2016 has launched with a focus on the stories of some of the volunteers and nurses that have helped the campaign in the past.
The Great Daffodil campaign takes place in March, and asks people to Get Behind the Daffodil, highlighting why its featured volunteers and nurses are getting involved again this year. 2016 is the 30th anniversary of the campaign, and the target is £8.5 million – with over 35,000 volunteers needed to make this a reality.

Since its 1986 launch, the campaign has raised over £70 million pounds for end of life care. In 2014 £8.26 million was raised, amounting to 413,000 nursing hours and care for over 40,000 people, while last year £8.3 million was raised, amounting to 415,000 nursing hours and care for over 40,000 people, with 34,266 people taking part in Great Daffodil appeal events.
Director Nick Jones said,
“When we do things together it becomes a more powerful shared experience. I wanted to communicate that positive feeling that comes from supporting an organisation like Marie Curie.”
Would be volunteers can sign up on the Marie Curie site.
