Here are six fundraising challenge events taking place this year: a range of ideas for a mixture of abilities and ages, from a Peppa Pig Muddy Puddle Walk, to a more extreme fire walk over hot coals. 1) Prince of Wales Hospice Fire Walk The Prince of Wakes Hospice is challenging people to walk over hot coals next month in its sponsored Fire Walk to raise funds for the charity. The event takes place on 10th February at Motorpoint Castleford in Yorkshire and includes a full fire walk training seminar led by fire walking experts from UK Firewalk. 2) Royal British Legion Poppy Walk The Royal British Legion will be expanding its Poppy Walk for 2017, to take place in Portsmouth and Liverpool, as well as London. The event invites people to discover their city over a 10km walk, with a quiz to complete en route, and to raise funds for the charity for doing so. The event takes place in July. 3) Bloodwise & Velothon Wales Sportiv Bloodwise is the official charity partner of the 2017 Velothon Wales Sportiv, which takes place in July. This is the third year running that the Bloodwise has been its official charity partner, and it is hoping to raise over £100,000 from the Cardiff event, which takes place on 9th July, and offers either a 110km or 140km course. Bloodwise riders will receive a significant reduction in entry fee, cycling kit, access to training rides, training plans and advice. https://twitter.com/WinterRunUK/status/819631287497531394 4) Cancer Research UK Winter Runs Cancer Research UK has two Winter Runs taking place next month, in London on 5th February, and in Manchester on 12th February. The events challenge people to run either 10km, 5km, or 2.5km for the charity, with runners blasted off from the start line with snow, supported by penguins along the course, and greeted by polar bears as they cross the finish line. Over 16,000 runners are expected at the London run. 5) Peppa Pig’s Muddy Puddle Walk for Save the Children Peppa Pig is teaming up with Save the Children to encourage nurseries, early years groups, families and children to take part in Peppa Pig’s Muddle Puddle Walk for Save the Children. The event runs from 8th and 14th May 2017, and will asks people to get their little ones sponsored to walk or splash in puddles at the park, to donate to join a muddy puddle walk, or to bake and sell Muddy Puddle cupcakes for the charity. https://twitter.com/Leap_BMK/status/822413687659102209 6) Caldecotte Xtreme Challenge 55 teams will brave the Caldecotte Xtreme Challenge at Caldecotte Xperience in Milton Keynes for Action4Youth this March.
