Macmillan Cancer Support’s film features staff doing ‘whatever it takes’ to support those living with cancer.
The film was among a series of winners at this year’s Charity Film Awards, presented by Smiley Movement. They included productions from Surfers Against Sewage, Teenage Cancer Trust and Shelter, and were announced at the Awards ceremony at ODEON Luxe, Leicester Square with more than 500 guests in attendance.
The winners were chosen through a combination of expert judges and public votes, with the campaign generating an additional 2.5 million views on the films entered. Teach Happy for example increased its views more than 5 times, from about 18k to 60k.
The overall ‘People’s Choice’ Award – which received the most public votes out of all the films entered this year – went to Isha Foundation, for ‘Cauvery Calling: A Race To Save A River’.
Other winners include Safenet Domestic Abuse and Support Services I’s film ‘Behind Doors’; The Scout Association’s ‘What Made Me’; Shelter’s ‘Fight For Home’; and Surfers Against Sewage’s ‘Thank you Sea’.
More than 450,000 people live-streamed the 5th Charity Film Awards ceremony across Twitter, Facebook, Youtube and on Fundraising Everywhere’s virtual event platform.

- £0-100,000 Turnover Award: Timothy Syndrome Alliance – ‘Rare Strikes Back’
- £100,000-500,000 Turnover Award: The Paperweight Trust – ‘Evie’s Story’
- £500,000-5 million Turnover Award: Surfers Against Sewage – ‘Thank you Sea’ and Swindon Carers Centre – ‘Baggage’
- £5-20 million Turnover Award: Teenage Cancer Trust – ‘#NotOk’
- £20-50 million Turnover Award: The Scout Association – ‘What Made Me’
- £50-100 million Turnover Award: Shelter – ‘Fight For Home’
- £100 million plus Award: Sightsavers – ‘A Message From Students in Sierra Leone’
- Corporate Cause Award: Toast Ale – ‘It’s Time To Rise Up’

The Charity Film Awards joined forces with Smiley Movement in March last year. Any registered charity, CIC, social enterprise, charity media agency or brand with a corporate social responsibility initiative can enter a film in the annual awards.
