Ashley Harris Moore, 32, is just one of 10,000 sufferers of this inherited condition in the UK. She has just weeks to live.
Mum to a 16-month-old boy, Ashley has battled the disease since birth.
Two weeks ago her lungs had deteriorated so much she had to be admitted to Harefield Hospital in Middlesex.
Her life is now dependent on a donor to provide her with a new pair of lungs. But a chronic shortage of donors means that is unlikely to happen in time.
She and her friends set up Ashley’s Next Breath, a Twitter and Facebook campaign, to highlight the urgent need for organ donors. Continue reading
