INDIANAPOLIS -- Doctors say a high school football coach from LaGrange has a long road of recovery ahead of him.

He had a life saving heart transplant last weekend that’s given him a lot to be thankful for this holiday season.

"I couldn't tell you what I'd even say to these people. It's really a gift that, thank you will never be good enough for,” David Priestly said.

Surgeons at Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital performed the 12 hour surgery.

Nearly 50 heart transplants have been performed in Indiana and officials say about half of those happened at IU Health Methodist Hospital. Continue reading VIDEO
