From financial support for vital projects and the great team effort that is Who's Cooking Dinner, to donations from cake sales and the provision of volunteers, this round-up includes a variety of corporate fundraising efforts and support. Here are seven of the partnerships that have grabbed our attention this month: 1) Plan International & CBRE Plan International and CBRE have partnered to launch the charity’s Safer Cities programme in Nairobi. The programme works with girls and young women to help make urban spaces safer, more inclusive and tolerant. Plan International has already successfully run the programme in cities worldwide, including Cairo, Kampala, Hanoi, Lima and Delhi. Its approach puts girls’ voices and opinions about how to improve their city at the heart of the project. CBRE has provided a £500,000 commitment to the extension in Nairobi, which will reach 4000 young people in Embakasi, one of the poorest parts of the Kenyan capital, over the next two years.   2) Well Pharmacy & The Stroke Association Well Pharmacy is aiming to raise £250,000 for Stroke Association’s Know Your Blood Pressure campaign, which helps people lower their risk of stroke by providing blood pressure checks within local communities. The partnership will also focus on promoting stroke prevention by raising awareness stroke prevention and of high blood pressure as the biggest controllable risk factor for stroke.   https://twitter.com/Chevening_IFA/status/840217753919328256 3) Chevening Financial & DEBRA Chevening Financial is the first ever recipient of the BusinessesForSale.com Small Business Big Heart Award. Chevening Financial was selected as the overall winner for its eight-year long programme of community support taking housebound pensioners out for shopping and socialising. The £1,000 prize money is being donated to DEBRA, which the business supports year-round.   https://twitter.com/leadleukaemia/status/839446544042577920 4) Who’s Cooking Dinner & Leuka The 18th annual Who’s Cooking Dinner event took place on 8th March, raising £530,000, for Leuka. 20 top chefs came together to cook up 200 dinners for the event, including Ruth Rogers, Tom Kerridge, and Mark Hix. Diners also took part in an auction, bidding for the chefs to cook in their own home. The top three bids of the night raised a total of £104,000. Chef Peter Gordon founded the event, and his offer of a meal with himself and chef José Pizarro in San Sebastián raised £45,000 in the auction.   5) Cakesmiths & Project Waterfall Cakesmiths is joining the fundraising effort for next month’s UK Coffee Week by becoming official cake sponsor and Project Waterfall partner. UK Coffee Week takes place from 10th-16th April and sees coffee shops and coffee drinkers across the UK come together to support Project Waterfall. Cakesmiths will be donating 50p from every Espresso Cheesecake Brownie tray sold in 2017 to the charity. The funds from UK Coffee Week 2017 will help bring clean drinking water and sanitation to schools across Uganda, Ethiopia and Kenya. This project, which was started in 2012 by Project Waterfall's delivery partner WaterAid UK, will reach over 120,000 children with clean, safe drinking water and sanitation by the end of 2017.   6) Lyons Coffee & Project Waterfall Lyons Coffee is also supporting Project Waterfall and this year’s UK Coffee Week, in what is the first year of its partnership with the charity. In the run-up to UK Coffee Week (10th – 16th April), Lyons will make a donation from every pack of its coffee bags sold, with a commitment to providing fresh water to 4,000 people in rural coffee growing communities. Lyons has already helped fund a number of projects in coffee growing communities, including bringing clean drinking water and sanitation to the Kibebe Tsehay orphanage in Addis Ababa with its support of a three-fold approach model of Water, Hygiene and Sanitation (WASH), created by Splash International and Project Waterfall.   7) Buildbase, Hirebase, & Raleigh International Buildbase and Hirebase, both part of Grafton Merchanting GB Limited, have partnered with Raleigh International to provide funding for Raleigh’s youth-led development work in Tanzania and support a project improving access to safe, sustainable water and sanitation for children at a school in the country by autumn 2017. The companies will also give four employees aged between 17-24 the opportunity to volunteer on the project with the charity. Main image: Raleigh International
