"One of my favorite lines is from the modern poet Marianne Moore. She defines poetry as both a poet being a literalist of the imagination, but a poem being something that "has imaginary gardens with real toads in them." I have to make that so believable, even though it is imaginary. It becomes a whole world in itself and it has that element of truth in it." Marjorie Maddox is a poet, author and professor of English and creative writing at Lock Haven University, whose subjects range from baseball and current affairs to environmentalism and the tongue-in-cheek woes of an English Teacher. In this engaging interview she shares a glimpse of her poetry, her history, writing process and more.
