Nominations for the 2017 AbilityNet Tech4Good awards are open until 8th May. Entry to the Tech4Good Awards is free, and open to any individual or organisation including charities, social enterprises, public bodies and businesses. This year there are eight award categories to enter, including the new Comic Relief Tech4Good for Africa Award, for which entrants’ work must be tackling poverty or social injustice and specifically benefitting people in sub-Saharan Africa. Entrants must be using digital technology to deliver measurable social outcomes in a sub-Saharan context to have a chance of winning. The award categories: AbilityNet Accessibility Award BT Young Pioneer Award BT Connected Society Award Comic Relief Tech4Good for Africa Award Community Impact Award Digital Health Award Digital Skills Award Tech Volunteer of the Year Award This year’s nominations were opened by 10 year old inventor Arnav Sharma, who won the Tech4Good People’s and Winner of Winner’s Awards in 2016 for his invention Asthma Pi. He is the youngest ever winner of the Tech4Good awards, and is now working on developing an app to help people with dementia.
