BALTIMORE -  On a day that celebrated generosity from this world to the next, families of organ donors came together to honor their loved ones and celebrate the lives saved through organ donation during the Living Legacy Foundation's Remembrance Day.

Three years ago, 15-year-old Skylar Marion was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver in Pasadena, but his legacy lives on in a classmate and childhood friend who needed his heart, Kyle Wilkerson.

"We see the family out and about occasionally. It's just overwhelming. Words can't describe how grateful I am that Kyle is still here, yet how deeply saddened I am that somebody had to die, and it had to be such a life force as Skylar was," said Denise Wilkerson, Kyle's mother.

There are more than 3,700 people waiting for a solid organ transplant in Maryland, according to the foundation. Continue reading VIDEO
