SYRACUSE (WSYR-TV)For the past year, 30-year-old Victoria Fitzpatrick was not only focusing on becoming a mom for the first time, but she was fighting for her life.
Fitzpatrick, of LaFayette, has been battling Type 1 diabetes for 20 years. The disease has caused her issues with her eyesight and kidney function.
While pregnant, Fitzpatrick underwent dialysis six hours a day, six times a week for six months.
