A tiny baby fighting for his life with liver failure has been given new hope after an organ transplant.

Six-month-old Connor McCue was in desperate need of a donor after being born with Biliary Atresia - a rare childhood disease which causes liver damage.

Last week the brave little boy did receive a new liver but it quickly became apparent that something was not right and it failed.

Connor was immediately put on the “urgent” list and after a false alarm on Monday, a second donor organ became available on Wednesday.

As his parents sat anxiously waiting for news of the operation, they backed the Mirror’s campaign for all adults to become organ donors.

His dad Paul said: “If it was not for organ donation, my son wouldn’t be here. It is as simple as that.” Continue reading
