In 2008, two parents lost their son to an unfortunate drowning accident. In the wake of his untimely death, Hayden O’Brien left a positive effect on others that is still being felt today.
While Hayden was visiting family in Huntsville, he decided to go for a swim at a neighborhood pool by himself. While no one was able to give an exact account of what occurred, it was evident that he drowned in the pool. The pool’s lifeguards recovered him and performed CPR until help arrived. He was airlifted to Conroe Regional Medical Center, where his father works as an emergency room doctor. Hayden was eventually resuscitated, but the drowning left him in a vegetative state. His parents gave him several days in hopes that he would recover, but unfortunately, Hayden’s condition didn’t improve. He passed away peacefully three days after he was brought in.
