(Photo: WFAA) FERRIS — An Ellis County campus hit hard by tragedy has a powerful message to share. Over the last four months, Ferris Junior High School has lost a teacher and a student.
Ferris is the kind of town where lives overlap.
So for the last 13 years, the whole town has rooted for Marcus Andre Lankford, who fought a life-long battle with liver disease. He's been on a waiting list for a transplant since he was 12 months old; since then he's received two transplants.
Marcus died last week while doctors were working on his third transplant.
