The Funding Network is running its first hybrid live crowdfunding event on 13 June, offering three charities the chance to raise £10,000 each.
The Funding Network’s first in-person event since January 2020, it will bring three not-for-profits together with an audience of people keen to bring about social change.
Described as similar to ‘a TED talk meets friendly Dragon’s Den’, the not-for-profits will have six minutes to tell guests about their work and the difference it is making. After pitching, there will be a rapid live crowdfunding session, with the aim of raising £10,000 for each of them.
Taking place at Octopus Head Office (33 Holborn EC1N 2HT), people can register to join from 5:30pm for drinks or login from home at 6:30pm. Pitching will be Katherine Low Settlement, a Battersea-based charity helping people out of poverty and isolation, Catching Lives, a Canterbury-based charity that supports the homeless, and Solar Links, a charity that brings loan-financed affordable solar-home lighting to rural East Africa.
Eugenie Harvey, Chief Executive, said:
“Following the success of our virtual events, we’ll be running our first ever hybrid event, which promises to be a fantastic evening. At our events, people come and give anywhere between £10 and £1,000 to their chosen charities and leave knowing they are part of a group that has collectively raised up to £30,000 in less than 30 minutes.”
