Here’s a round up of news from the sector’s agencies and suppliers, from CommittedGiving’s launch of a new payment solution for nonprofits, to PFS’s rebrand to Gather Campaigns, the Donr Foundation’s launch and offer for CICs, and Spartan and Tough Mudder UK’s partnership with GoFundraise.
CommittedGiving launches payment solution to simplify donation process for charities
CommittedGiving, part of the MFS GroupCo has created GivingPay – a payment solution designed to simplify the donation process for charities.
Supported by payment technology provider Trust Payments, the single-contact solution can set up, manage and provide support for donors’ debit and credit card transactions, for both one-off donations and reoccurring Direct Debit donations, and for giving across multiple channels.
GivingPay incorporates both a debit and credit card merchant facility and operates across channels, including online, ecommerce and telephone, to give charities the opportunity to transact and process their card payments easily and in one place, through the CGHub. The hub gives charities control and visibility of transactions, enabling them to view, export, reconcile or refund payments 24/7.
Scott Gray, Chief Commercial Officer – charity division said:
“Our ambition was to create a frictionless and cost-effective payment merchant service that will change the way charities manage their donations; while making it a service that understands how your charity uses it, why it is vital for your fundraising or trading, and what to do when you have queries. It’s quick and easy to set up, provides competitive merchant rates and a joined-up payment service relationship – it’s an exciting step forward for charity donations management.”
F2F fundraising agency PFS rebrands to Gather Campaigns
Face-to-face fundraising agency PFS has changed its name and rebranded to Gather Campaigns to reflect the company’s growth and broader range of multi-channel services.
Dominic Will, Managing Director, said:
“Having pivoted, innovated and developed over the last few years, Gather Campaigns now offers so much more to support our charity partners. Face-to-face fundraising is still at our core, but we’re now more agile in offering a range of multi-channel direct dialogue acquisition services. Gather now offers face-to-face, telephone, digital lead gen and instant messaging, a range of payment options and asks, as well as bespoke strategic partnerships with charities, local authorities and commercial partners.”
During the pandemic when in-person fundraising was stopped, the agency redeployed teams of fundraisers to partner local authorities in London and across the Midlands to support more than 200,000 people with the delivery of Covid home testing kits, advice and guidance. More recently, Gather Outreach teams have been supporting campaigns around HIV testing, diabetes and mental health.
Gather Campaigns encompasses Gather Fundraising, Gather Outreach and Gather Partnerships.
Donr Foundation moves from beta mode to full launch
Donr Foundation is now fully live following a successful beta mode, and is offering its Text Giving service to any registered Community Interest Company.
CiCs can sign up automatically by going to the Register Page . Once signed up, CICs can set up their own text giving campaign by selecting a keyword and shortcode. Default payment amounts can also be set so that supporters only need to text the keyword and not add a donation amount.
CICs can also choose to select a regular giving option, and there is no set up fee, no monthly fee and no transaction fee. Users will receive 100% of all money donated to them.
Donr Foundation was established to help good causes that, for whatever reason, have chosen not to become a registered charity. In time, it wants to support everyone, from individuals raising money, through to large corporates and their charity fundraising but for now is supporting CICs only.
The GivingLottery turns 3 on 3 June
The GivingLottery, run by TheGivingMachine charity, is three on 3 June. Since launch it has raised more than £150,000 for the community and more than £66,999 has been given away in winnings. So far more than 230 good causes have signed up to raise funds.
The GivingLottery offers weekly cash prizes up to the £25,000 jackpot for £1 per ticket.
40% of the £1 ticket goes directly to the cause of the player’s choice with a further 20% going to the community fund, which is used to further support UK based good causes.
Good causes also receive a host of marketing materials as well as their own GivingLottery web page, and can sign up for free.
Spartan and Tough Mudder Announce GoFundraise Partnership
Worldwide adventure brands Spartan and Tough Mudder UK have teamed up with global, integrated fundraising and registration platform GoFundraise, to offer a new fundraising experience for participants.
Following on from a US partnership with Spartan, GoFundraise will be onboarded by the UK teams as their recommended platform for both individual fundraisers and charity partners looking to maximise donations and fundraising from those taking on muddy challenges.
GoFundraise is free for charities to join, with no monthly or annual fees, instead relying on the generosity of users to fund the service beyond the credit card cost. After signing up to a Tough Mudder or Spartan, entrants will be encouraged to donate and fundraise for their chosen charities through the GoFundraise platform.
Charities registered with the platform will be able to take advantage of easy registration with integrated fundraising and seamless Spartan or Tough Mudder fundraising page design. At a discounted price, charities are also able to purchase limited entry registrations through the GoFundraise platform. Affiliate charity partners also receive a co-branded landing page to send to their supporters.
New partnership sees North East digital marketing agency offer free support to charities
Newcastle-based digital marketing agency Glass Digital has partnered with charity initiative Connected Voice to share their digital marketing expertise with local charities for free.
Connected Voice works with charities to improve their business knowledge and boost their profiles, and partners with businesses in the area, asking them to provide useful skills and insights to small charities, such as marketing, accounting, HR, and event organising, free of charge.
Glass Digital will provide training to charities in the region that need assistance with their online visibility. This training could be over the phone, face-to-face, or during a workshop, and Glass Digital has committed to spending one hour per month with various charities in the region to develop their marketing skills.
The first charity Glass Digital assisted was Friends of Jesmond Library. It advised them on their website and social media efforts, including reviewing existing work, identifying shortcomings, and highlighting opportunities to generate more organic traffic.
