The Reimagining Fundraising Global Innovation Challenge is back for a second time, seeking solutions to the fundraising challenges of 12 international NGOs.
An open innovation challenge, Reimagining Fundraising invites fundraising practitioners, NGOs, startups, companies, agencies, academics, and individuals to submit their solution, explain how it works and see how it can be tested with one of the 12 NGO partners.
The 2022 NGOs are UNICEF, WWF, UNHCR, SOS Children’s Villages, Médecins Sans Frontières, World Vision, Amnesty International, ICRC, Four Paws, OXFAM, Care and Plan International. Submissions close on 8 August.
Solutions will be evaluated by a panel of fundraisers from international nonprofit organisations. Winners will receive seed funding and become Fellows at the Reimagining Fundraising Innovation Hub to further develop their solutions. They will then have the opportunity to pilot it with a partner NGO, and take it to market.
There are 5 challenges in total, which can all be viewed on the Reimagining Fundraising site, where solutions can also be submitted. There is also an opportunity to submit a solution that doesn’t fit under one of the challenges.
The challenges are:
- Challenge A: Engaging new audiences. Crypto, Gen Z, sustainability, gaming, legacy donors, employee giving
- Challenge B: Beyond traditional NGO fundraising models. New fundraising products to build long-term relationships with our supporters
- Challenge C: New channels, new tools. Increasing relevance and long-term value when engaging with our supporters
- Challenge D: Recruiting new fundraising talent – and retaining them
- Challenge E: Disrupt! Radical new ways to raise money
Reimagining Fundraising launched in 2020 and brought together fourteen international NGOs. It saw more than 1,500 participants and over 230 submissions from companies, start-ups, fundraisers and non-fundraisers. These submissions were reviewed by 113 industry experts, nominated by the fourteen participating NGOs. The finalists, challenge results and lessons learned can be read in the Innovation Manifesto.
