A New Jersey woman was blessed with a miracle Saturday morning in Philadelphia, just as the Pope arrived to the city for his historic visit.

The woman finally got the news she had been waiting to hear: she was matched with a kidney donor. But there was one issue—she needed to get from her home in Berlin, N.J. to Philadelphia and the Ben Franklin Bridge is closed due to the Pope’s visit.

But New Jersey State Police did not let that stop the woman from getting the long-awaited transplant. They provided a special escort of the patient from her home, over the bridge, to Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia. Continue reading.
