Midstate woman who hit the streets to find kidney donor, gets transplant

It was a long journey searching for a kidney donor but on Wednesday, a Franklin County woman will receive the organ she needs to live.

In early August, we told you about Mark Hahn and his wife, Tina, who had posted messages on vehicles asking for a kidney donor.

She had received a kidney transplant 15 years ago but was in need of another so her husband and family members posted their phone numbers on their vehicles with messages like, “WIFE NEEDS KIDNEY. TYPE A OR O? 717-765-0799.”

Mark told abc27 he and his wife received almost 30 calls from people across the country and recently, they found out they could participate in a kidney swap. Continue reading
