CHARLESTON, WV - On Sunday, October 25, the Clay Center in Charleston hosted the CORE's 4th annual memorial ceremony, which honored the families of organ, tissue and cornea donors in West Virginia, who have saved or improved the lives of transplant patients in the past year.
Each family in attendance received a special remembrance.
Butterflies were released at the end of the event in honor of loved ones who gave others a chance for renewed health.
The Center for Organ Recovery & Education (CORE) is one of 58 federally designated not-for-profit organ procurement organizations (OPOs) in the United States. CORE works closely with donor families and designated health care professionals to deliver the gift of hope by coordinating the surgical recovery of organs, tissues and corneas for transplantation.
