Tragic dad who died just weeks after birth of his son helps save three lives through organ donation

A first-time father collapsed and died just seven weeks after the birth of his first child.

Jamie Murphy (Foulkes), 37, was rushed to hospital after collapsing on Monday morning.

The ‘gentle giant’, from Benchill, died the following day after suffering an aneurysm.

Before he died, his seven-week-old son Frankie was christened at his bedside surrounded by around 50 friends and family members.

His heartbroken family have now paid tribute to him and told how he saved lives after his death, reports the Manchester Evening News.

Jamie’s partner Sarah and mum Debbie agreed to allow his organs to be donated.

The former Trinity High School pupil’s heart, liver and kidneys have been used to save three lives, which his family say is testament to his generosity. Continue reading
