LODI — A Lodi High school senior won second place in an art contest that drew submissions from students from 40 counties in Northern California and Nevada.
Hailey Miller’s artwork, which featured the message “Organs Give Life … become a donor this holiday season,” won this year’s art contest organized by Donor Network West, according to the organization. The painting features two people by a tree sitting atop of snow and its roots are depicted as lungs.
Donor Network West, a nonprofit dedicated to organ and tissue donation, hosts the competition to highlight how organ and tissue donation can save lives and heal people, while embracing the talents of children. The theme for the artwork was “Miracles happen through organ and tissue donation.” Continue reading
