Even when distance or years separate family, the heart has a funny way of bringing you back together.
In the case of two Lexington men, their hearts literally brought them back together.
Kenneth Catlett and Aaron Arnold have the same father, but different mothers. They both grew up in Lexington, but they never knew each other until they met by chance for the first time as young adults.
As life does, the brothers lost touch. Decades went by and then Kenneth, now 55, developed congestive heart failure.
He needed a heart transplant and had the surgery in August of 2014.
“I was apprehensive about the whole process, about being cut on, and so forth,” Kenneth told LEX 18’s Angie Beavin. “I'd never had any major surgery.” Continue reading
