Chris Horner, who nearly died eight times, has finally undergone a life-saving heart transplant after being hours from death

A DAD-of-two who’s cheated death eight times has finally received a life-saving heart transplant – after preparing to say goodbye to his family.

Doctors told Chris Horner he was in multiple organ failure and had just hours to live before the call cam

And now the 30-year-old is urging others to sign the organ donation register, to help others facing the agonising wait.

Nine years ago Chris was diagnosed with endocarditis, a rare and potentially fatal infection of the inner lining of the heart.

Since then, he has had countless ops, including open heart surgery four times and he’s had three pacemakers fitted.

The dad-of-two said he’s nearly died eight times.

“I’ve got a lot to live for and a lot to fight for,” he said.

“There was no way I was just going to give up.”

In February, Chris’s wife Natasha, who is expecting the couple’s third baby, was told by doctors to prepare for the worst.
