LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Friends describe 18-year-old Mia Bierra as a social butterfly - loved by everyone and extremely popular.
Funeral services have now been set for Mia, who died late Friday afternoon in a wreck that also killed 20-year-old Joseph Espinoza.
The accident is still under investigation but police do not anticipate bringing charges against the driver who hit them.
But some good did come out of this tragedy, as her family says the organs Mia donated have saved eight lives.
According to lifegift.org, a new person is added to the national organ transplant waiting list every ten minutes.
