The first UK Digital Benchmarks Study goes live today (2 July 2021), with participants receiving the findings ahead of the public launch, which takes place next Wednesday 7 July.

Brought to the UK by Rally and M+R, 55 UK charities shared details for the Study on all elements of their digital activity, including their digital ad spends and returns, website performance, social media activity and email results.

A pre-public launch look at the findings shows that despite an unpredictable year, 2020 saw a substantial growth in online revenue and email list size across charities of all sizes and sectors.

The findings are due to be presented by Rally and M+R in a public launch webinar on 7 July at 4pm BST, which anyone can register to attend.

Paul de Gregorio, founder of Rally told UK Fundraising:

“I am so excited to be able to share our learnings with the sector and truly believe they’ll
drive the growth of digital and give charities the confidence to test new opportunities.
None of this would have been possible without the 55 charities who chose to take part in
our first year and I’d like to thank them for their commitment and hard work gathering
the data.”

The study has been running in the US for 14 years, with Rally and M+R announcing last summer that they were bringing the Digital Benchmarks Study to the UK to enable charities here to work out how their digital programmes compare to others and provide them with insight to help them plan for the future. Back in November, the two also announced the first twenty UK charities to be participating, which included Amnesty International UK, Breast Cancer Now, British Red Cross, Brooke, Cancer Research UK.
