SOFII’s I Wish I Thought of That takes places next week (15 July) with SOFII issuing a rallying cry for support of this year’s virtual event to help the organisation keep going after a tough year, and return IWITOT to an in-person event in 2022.

This year’s IWITOT will be the first time that speakers from both the UK and other European countries join forces to share great ideas and inspiration in one event.

Taking place between 2pm – 4pm BST on 15 July, twelve speakers will share the great fundraising idea they wish they had thought of themselves. Tickets are available here.

Confirmed speakers include:

  • Kevin Amponsah – Philanthropy Officer at The Children’s Society (UK)
  • Rebecka Winell – Head of Major Gifts at Barncancerfonden – Swedish Childhood
  • Cancer Fund (Sweden)
  • Raquel Gutierrez – Director at The Fundraising Company S.L (Spain)
  • Fatima Talidi-Marrero – Head of Individual Giving & Membership at Parkinson’s UK
  • Simona Biancu – Fundraising and Philanthropy Consultant at ENGAGEDin (Italy)
  • Gabriela Cervera – Philanthropy and Fundraising Advisor at IG Advisors (UK)
  • Emma Rowe – Head of High Value Giving at Terrence Higgins Trust (UK)
  • Dani Gonzalez – Founder and CEO at DGTL Fundraising (Spain)
  • Roland Csaki – Individual Giving Team Manager, Global Development Centre at WWF (Hungary)
  • Tanita Mistry – Corporate & Major Donor Fundraiser at Zoës Place Hospice (UK)
  • Nikki Wrench – Community Manager at RNLI (UK)
  • Rebecca Wilson – Corporate Development Lead at Mencap (UK)

There will also be live hosting from SOFII and 2020’s winner, Megan Townshend from Marie Curie UK.

The virtual platform also hosts a chat function where attendees can get involved with their own IWITOT ideas, thoughts and opinions. At the end of the event, attendees can vote for their favourite idea.

With SOFII being a charity organisation that relies on voluntary income, it is keen that this month’s event is a success to enable IWITOT to return in full next year.

Ken Burnett, SOFII Trustee, said:

“SOFII is thrilled to host another virtual IWITOT event and celebrate great fundraising in the UK and Europe. Last year, Open helped us raise an amazing £15,000 from our first-ever virtual IWITOT event. As a small charity, IWITOT is our biggest fundraiser and it means we can keep SOFII.org free for users around the world.

“This year we hope to top last year’s fundraising total so we can reach more fundraisers and add new content to the site, especially in our increasingly popular Crisis Fundraising and My First Weeks as a Fundraiser showcases. We hope fundraisers from around the world will join us at IWITOT and be inspired by the innovative fundraising ideas their peers have chosen.”
