Pentland Brands, which is behind sports, outdoor and lifestyle brands including Berghaus, Mitre, Ellesse, Lacoste and Red or Dead, is seeking a new charity partner.
The company is calling on charities to submit applications, by Friday 11 March 2022, for projects in the following areas:
1. Inspiring young people to become more active
2. Empowering disadvantaged communities
3. Reducing our environmental impact
The new charity will help support the Pentland Brands newly launched 100-1-0 Positive Business strategy. The strategy aims to deliver three major goals by the business’s centenary year in 2032; helping 100 million consumers live positive, active, sustainable lifestyles, improving the lives of 1 million people in its communities and becoming a Net Zero business.
Sara Brennan, positive business director at Pentland Brands, said:
“Last year we were proud to donate 1% of our profit to charity and over 100,000 products to people in need. We’re now looking to expand our charity network with a new partnership that can help us support more people within the communities in which we operate.”
The winning application will join other Pentland Brands charity partners, supporting a diverse range of causes including inspiring children to get active, mentoring disadvantaged young people and bringing safe drinking water to developing countries. In 2021, Pentland Brands supported 8,920 people, through its partnerships to improve the lives of people in its communities, across 11 locations around the world.
Pentland Brands particularly welcome applications for projects in its key sourcing markets with a duration of between one and three years. The application form with additional information and criteria can be found here.
Applications should be sent to charity@pentland.com by Friday 11 March. Shortlisted charities will be notified by Friday 1 April and invited to pitch their proposal in the final stage of the application process.
