GREENFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Western Massachusetts hospitals have been nationally recognized for their work in organ donations. Baystate Franklin Medical Center in Greenfield is among a select group of hospitals given an award for promoting organ and tissue donations.
A total of 995 hospitals nationwide were recognized by the national campaign encouraging donor enrollments, but only three in Massachusetts received the highest platinum-level recognition. In addition to Baystate Franklin, Baystate Medical Center in Springfield and UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester also were awarded.
The campaign has added 400,000 new donors to registries across the country over the past five years. Continue reading
