THE only life Tamara and Caiden Holden knew was having their mum spend every second day of their lives attached to a machine.

Mona Holden missed countless school events and precious hours with her children due to the kidney failure she was diagnosed with seven years ago.

"They found the failure when I was pregnant with Caiden and they said if we wanted to expand the family, we should do it sooner than later and we wanted a sibling for him,” Ms Holden said.

"We had Tamara and she was born at 35 weeks and weighed just 1.9 kilos, but we are so blessed to have our beautiful little family.

"Three months after she was born, they put the catheter in and I was on dialysis for up to six hours every other day." Continue reading
