CORPUS CHRISTI (KIII NEWS) - The parents of a young man chose to donate his organs -- a decision that was recognized Tuesday during a flag raising ceremony at Christus Spohn Memorial Hospital.
Daniel Trevino was only 24 when he lost his life on Nov. 21. His family said the death is hard to take, but they are trying to make something positive out of the loss by donating his organs.
According to the Southwest Transplant Alliance, about 24 people die per day who are waiting on a life saving organ. Trevino's donation was of great benefit.
Police said Trevino was involved in a disturbance on North Beach and was taken to a hospital where he later died. His death is still being investigated. Continue reading
