The parents of Theodore Omondi, known as Theo, have spoken of their pride after their son's "incredible gift" to a five-month-old girl and a young adult.
Tiny Theo died after a sudden illness earlier this year.
But his lungs went on to save Imogen Bolton, who become Britain's youngest double lung transplant patient in a seven-hour operation at London's Great Ormond Street Hospital .
His two kidneys were donated to a young adult, who has not been named.
Imogen had been diagnosed with the rare illness Alveolar Capillary Dysplasia (ACD), meaning her lungs had not properly formed, but the transplant was a success and she is recovering well at home.
Theo's parents, who did not wish to be identified, said the donation had been a "once-in-a-lifetime chance meeting of two little people bravely and and beautifully fighting for life". Continue reading
