Donation pages are often the weak link that kills online fundraising. Here are some helpful hints from John Haydon on things we often get wrong at this critical part of digital fundraising. 5 Donation Page Blunders That Kill Fundraising Response Rates:

  1. Your Donation Page Isn't Mobile (A lot of people interact with their email on their phone. If your page doesn't work on a phone, it doesn't work!)
  2. You're Missing a Hook (The emotional hook that got people to click to the page should be on that page also to keep the feeling alive.)
  3. Your Message is Inconsistent (Whatever sent people to the page should also be on that page.)
  4. Too Many Distractions. (They're on the page to give. That's it.)
  5. Your Ask is Weak. (Just because they've landed on the page doesn't meaning they're going to follow through. Keep fundraising!)
