| Vice lord lieutenant Edith Conn (left) presented Kate Overend with the Order of St John award on behalf of her father, Clive Robinson A FAMILY man from Chorley was one of 19 people posthumously honoured for saving lives through organ donation at an award ceremony.
They received the Order of St John award for organ donation, run in conjunction with NHS Blood and Transplant, was which was given to their families and loved ones on their behalf.
Clive Robinson from Chorley, who died in April 2015 aged 67, was among those honoured and his daughter, Kate Overend, collected the award at the presentation.
The private ceremony was held at Chetham’s School of Music in Manchester in October with the accolades presented by vice lord lieutenant Edith Conn.
Hundreds of families are receiving the award at regional ceremonies held across the UK between September and December. They recognise the 1,364 people who donated their organs after dying last year, leading to thousands of patients’ lives being saved or transformed. Continue reading
