Manitoba boy saved by heart transplant; living example of the importance of organ donation

A heart transplant from an organ donor saved Jayden Strattner-Brown's life 2009.

Each afternoon Dayna Brown waits for a school bus to drop off her son Jayden at their St. James area home.

It’s a moment they both look forward to each day.

Like most kids his age Jayden Strattner-Brown is active, playful and healthy.

He likes soccer, he swims and plays the recorder.

Without knowing, it would be impossible to tell that Jayden is a recipient of a heart transplant.

"When they told us he needed a heart transplant our hearts sank. It was the worst case scenario, because it's a tough thing to wait for,” Brown said.
