Jason admits it was a bit interesting having a film crew follow them around during this ordeal but says after a while they didn't really notice them.
As for how this opportunity came about, Judy says one of the doctors told the crew about them and thought it would be a good success story to share.
"So he approached us and asked us if we wanted to. We thought about it and like, 'Do we want cameras around during these times?' but her story needed to be heard. I guess babies touch people in a certain way."
Judy was twenty weeks pregnant when, during a routine ultrasound, local doctors noticed something was wrong with Harlow's heart. Months later when the baby girl was born in Winnipeg, she was immediately flown to hospital in Edmonton where it was confirmed - Harlow would need a heart transplant. The family spent two weeks at the hospital waiting for answers when finally Harlow was placed on the transplant list and a month later, at six weeks old, got a new heart. Continue reading
