Good Mornin’! Good Mornin’!

The spirit of Thanksgiving is still wafting in the air and the twinkling of Christmas has now begun. With Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, Cyber Monday followed by Giving Tuesday, it’s been a whirlwind of gratefulness, power shopping at box stores, boutiques and web links and finally digging deeper to help those in need.

What’s on your Christmas list? What are you planning on giving? April is the celebrated month for Organ Donation but it’s never not a great time to promote and chat about the gift of life through giving of one’s organ and tissues.

Back in 1986, I graduated from Ole Miss and headed to Daytona Beach, Florida to spend the summer with a bunch of other college folks on a Campus Crusade for Christ Summer Mission. I lived with about eight other guys at the El Caribe Motel and we all took jobs around the area. I had a broadcast journalism degree and I worked as a maid. One of my roommates was this long-haired, Jesus loving fellah named Steve Baker who loved to sing. He came from Virginia but matriculated at West Virginia. Well, I took the three or four guitar chords that Frazier Riddell had taught me and helped put together praise and worship music and a few Larry Norman songs that Baker wanted to sing.
